After having seven players selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, the LSU Football program continues to churn out NFL talent year after year. The Tigers boast a handful of high-profile players at the next level, and several are already earning high praise ahead of the upcoming 2025 season.
As the start of the NFL season draws hearer, the NFL has released its annual list of the Top 100 players in the league. A trio of former LSU Tigers have earned top-10 honors. The players are the usual suspects: Justin Jefferson comes in at No. 9, Joe Burrow at No. 6, and Ja'Marr Chase at No. 4.
No. 9 - Justin Jefferson
------------------------
Justin Jefferson continues to put up elite production no matter who his quarterback is. Since entering the NFL in 2020, Jefferson has caught passes from Kirk Cousins, Sean Mannion, Nick Mullens, Joshua Dobbs, and Sam Darnold. Despite the quarterback turnover in Minnesota, Jefferson remains one of the league's premier wide receivers.
Jefferson's career trajectory is unmatched. He enters the 2025 season with more receiving yards (7,432) in his first five seasons than anyone in NFL history. He owns a well-rounded skill set that is headlined by elite route running, dependable hands, and a football IQ that allows him to find open spaces. His speed takes over in the open field, where he is capable of turning short routes into long gains with his great ability to rack up yards after the catch.
Jefferson will have another quarterback throwing to him this season, as JJ McCarthy is the new starting signal-caller in Minnesota. Despite McCarthy's inexperience, McCarthy and Jefferson can be a lethal combo. Jefferson enters the new season with a streak of five consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, having eclipsed 1,400 yards in four of his five seasons. It doesn't matter who his QB is - Jefferson will produce.
No. 6 - Joe Burrow
------------------
It's safe to say that Joe Burrow has gotten better in each of his five NFL seasons. Burrow is coming off a career season in 2024, as he completed 70.6 percent of his passes for 4,918 yards and 43 touchdowns with just nine interceptions. His 43 pass TDs were the fourth-most in NFL history by a QB who also threw less than 10 interceptions in a single season. [According to NFL Research](https://www.nfl.com/news/top-100-players-of-2025-nos-10-1), Burrow's 2024 performance made him the third QB in NFL history to have at least 4,500 passing yards, 40 passing TDs, and less than 10 INTs, joining Tom Brady (2007) and Aaron Rodgers (2011).
Burrow battled significant injuries in 2020 and 2023, but when healthy, he's as good as it gets. In just five seasons, Burrow has already been named AP Comeback Player of the Year twice (2021 and 2024). He leads a pass-heavy Cincinnati offense that could have him in line for another monster season in 2025. There's a legitimate chance he flirts with 5,000 yards again, and with Chase as his top receiver, the duo has the potential to put up strong numbers week after week.
No. 4 - Ja'Marr Chase
---------------------
Ja'Marr Chase has been an [unstoppable force](https://deathvalleyvoice.com/ja-marr-chase-should-be-the-no-1-overall-pick-in-every-fantasy-football-draft-01k32azcrgsy) since getting drafted fifth overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2021 NFL Draft. He put together a record-setting 2024 season, which saw him become the sixth player in the Super Bowl era to win the receiving triple crown. He led the league in receiving yards (1,708), receptions (127) and touchdowns (17). At 24 years old, he became the youngest receiver to earn the honor.
He has orchestrated four 1,000-yard seasons, and already has 5,425 career receiving yards and 46 touchdowns under his belt. This past offseason, Chase became the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history with his new four-year, $161 million contract with the Bengals.
Chase went nuclear in Week 10 last season against the Ravens, bringing in 11 catches for 264 yards and three touchdowns. That effort led to him becoming the first player in NFL history to record multiple games with at least 250 receiving yards and two touchdowns. With his elite route-running, elusiveness and athleticism, the LSU product is capable of putting up those types of numbers on any given Sunday.
