Cleveland Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett has always been a man of multiple interests and skills outside of football, and he has the chance to pursue some of them should he so choose.
Garrett is hyper athletic, which doesn’t just show up on NFL fields on Sundays in the fall, but also any time he takes a basketball court. The Browns defensive end did so on August 24 in a viral video that reminded everyone just how talented Garrett actually is.
Among those who got the wake up call was rapper and actor Ice Cube, who is also the proprietor of the Big3 — the nation’s premier 3-on-3 basketball league that has employed several former and/or retired NBA players and offers a bonus of $1 million to each member of the winning team every season.
Garrett watched the championship live, as his brother Sean Williams captured the $1 million prize as part of the league-winning Miami 305 squad. It was after that game that Garrett took to the floor and once again impressed with his skill set.
Speaking to TMZ following the end of the tournament, Ice Cube extended an invitation to Garrett to join the league.
“Yeah, we’d love to see him,” Ice Cube said of Garrett in the Big3. “Tell him to come try out.”

Garrett spoke about the possibility of participating in the Big3 “eventually” during an interview with Rachel Nichols.
“Eventually, but I gotta get that cleared with [Browns GM Andrew Berry] and the team first,” Garrett said. “I could see that happening. I mean, if [my brother is] still doing it, I’d love to be playing with him sometime, but I could definitely see myself on the court someday.”
As Nichols mentioned in the interview, Garrett owns a minority stake in the Cleveland Cavaliers franchise and his love for the sport of basketball is as well documented as his ability to play it.
That being said, the Browns just extended the 29-year-old defensive end on a four-year deal worth $160 million total, which keeps him under contract through the 2030 season. Given the team’s massive investment in the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year, it is highly unlikely Garrett will find himself playing professional basketball of any kind before the end of the current decade.
Browns Defense to Lean Heavily on Myles Garrett Yet Again in 2025

As one of the most-talented and highest-paid defenders in football, who also happens to play a premier position, Cleveland has long leaned on Garrett’s six-foot, four-inch frame to hold up the defense. The Browns will have to so again this season, perhaps to an even greater degree than usual.
Cleveland has paired Garrett with Jadeveon Clowney and then Za’Darius Smith over the last few years, giving him a counterpart on the opposite edge of the defense that other teams must at least respect. However, as of Tuesday, Alex Wright is the other starter at the position. He has tallied six sacks in 37 career games played (six starts).
The Browns will also be without starting linebacker and former Pro Bowler Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah all year due to a lingering neck injury, while starting outside cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. will miss all of 2025 due to an Achilles tear he suffered earlier this preseason.
