LAKE FOREST, Ill., — One of the biggest storylines going into Monday night's season opener against the Minnesota Vikings is the status of defensive back Jaylon Johnson. And on Tuesday, we got to hear from Johnson for the first time since suffering his injury this past offseason.

"I had a groin injury over the offseason. I was doing some releases with some receivers and stuff like that," Johnson said. "And honestly, I would say (it was) a freak accident. As far as the injury, (it's the) same movement I've made plenty of times, and had a pretty bad, bad injury in my groin."

Johnson has been sidelined since before the start of camp, going on the NFI list as camp started. He missed all of camp with that injury and should return to practice this week, likely on Tuesday. That will be the biggest tell if he can play on Monday or not.
