Jalin Hyatt Trade Rumors: Giants Receiver Could Be on the Move
Jalin Hyatt’s name has floated around trade rumors for the last couple of years. The New York Giants drafted him with high hopes, but he hasn’t lived up to his potential in New York. Hyatt, a former third-round pick, was a star at Tennessee. In 2022, during his junior season, he broke out with 67 receptions for 1,267 yards and 15 touchdowns. The Giants believed they were getting a playmaker, but Hyatt never became a difference-maker at the pro level.
This summer, Hyatt was on the roster bubble. He looked like a potential cut candidate, but he survived and made the 53-man roster. Even with that, he sits behind Malik Nabers, Wan’Dale Robinson, and Darius Slayton on the depth chart. At just 23 years old, Hyatt might need a fresh start to unlock his skill set.

Potential Trade Destinations:
Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers are still searching for a true WR2. They need another weapon to line up opposite DK Metcalf and give Aaron Rodgers another option in the passing game. Hyatt fits the mold. He brings speed, big-play potential, and youth upside. A change of scenery in Pittsburgh could help him thrive in a more defined role.
Buffalo Bills – The Bills could also take a flyer on Hyatt. They have Keon Coleman, and Khalil Shakir has flashed, but depth remains thin. Josh Allen needs more targets, and Hyatt offers speed and vertical ability. Buffalo is always looking to surround Allen with weapons, and Hyatt could come cheap in a potential deal.
New York Jets – The Jets just handed the offense to new quarterback Justin Fields. Outside of Garrett Wilson, the receiver room is shaky. Josh Reynolds and Allen Lazard don’t strike much fear in defenses. Adding Hyatt would give the Jets another young piece with upside, helping spread the field and giving Fields more support.
Slow Start to Career
Hyatt has yet to make a real impact in the NFL. In 2023, his rookie season, he started seven games and finished with 23 catches for 373 yards. Last season, he saw an even smaller role. He started only three games, catching just eight passes for 62 yards. He still doesn’t have a regular season touchdown in his career. On the bright side, in his last preseason game vs the Patriots he looked good and had three catches for 38 yards and added a touchdown. Lack of opportunity and inconsistency have kept him from finding a rhythm. He’s been more of a depth piece than a featured weapon, often buried in the rotation. A fresh start with a new team could give Hyatt the chance to reset, rebuild confidence, and finally showcase the talent he flashed at Tennessee.
Jalin Hyatt is only 23 years old and still carries the talent that made him a third-round pick. He won’t cost much in a potential trade, likely just late-round draft capital. That makes him a low-risk, high-reward option for any team looking to add depth and upside at wide receiver. For the Giants, it may be time to move on. For another team, Hyatt could finally find his breakout moment.
