Micah Parsons’ agent sounds off on concerning scenario before Packers-Lions

Now that Micah Parsons is no longer with the Dallas Cowboys, many believe that the back issue he said he had amid his hold-in with his former team would “suddenly” heal up. Apparently, even after already showing up to practice with the Green Bay Packers, Parsons is still dealing with the same problem.

According to Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta of Athletes First, the star linebacker is already taking medication to address the back problem, and the former Penn State Nittany Lions star is committed to seeing action this coming Sunday, when the Packers kick off their 2025 NFL campaign with a home game versus the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field.

Via Rob Demovsky of ESPN:

Mulugheta on Parsons’ back: “He’s feeling much better.”

Said Parsons was prescribed an anti-inflammatory by the Cowboys and “if that doesn’t heal to the point where he can be on the field (Sunday), I know Micah’s going to do everything he can to be on the field for the Packers.”

Parsons enjoys playing with kids at El Paso High School during a football camp for youth on June 17, 2024.

Given what Mulugheta said about Parsons’ status, it seems safe to expect that Parsons will make his Green Bay debut in the aforementioned meeting with the Lions in Week 1.

That doesn’t sound great for Detroit quarterback Jared Goff and the Lions’ offensive line, as Parsons is always a big problem to deal with, perhaps even when he’s not at his 100 percent.

The Packers are also looking to score a measure of revenge against Detroit, which defeated them twice in 2024.

But in the event that Parsons gets ultimately ruled out for the Lions game, the soonest he can take the field will be in Week 2, when Green Bay gets a visit from the Washington Commanders.
