Exact Arsenal points tally predicted amid this season's Premier League title race

Arsenal's chances of winning the Premier League title have been predicted - following the closure of the summer transfer window.

The Gunners were handed an early blow to their hopes of winning the league title this season with their defeat to Liverpool at the weekend. Arsenal lost 1-0 to the Merseyside outfit at Anfield and are now three points behind with three matches played.

Despite the defeat, Mikel Arteta's squad will have confidence that they can still win the Premier League title this season ahead of rivals Liverpool, Manchester City and others. Arsenal will return to Premier League action on September 13 - after the international break - where they will host Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium.

There are still 35 matches left to play in the Premier League this season, and there has already been a prediction where Arsenal will finish up when the campaign comes to an end. Opta Analyst have crunched the numbers and provided a predicted final table, which includes where they believe Arsenal finish at the end of the season.

The prediction believes that Arsenal will finish in second place behind Liverpool, who are being tipped to win the league title for a second successive season. The Gunners are predicted to finish with 73 (73.11) points, which is not enough to beat Liverpool to the title. The Merseyside club are tipped to amass 79 (79.02) points, which would see them beat Arsenal to the title by six points.

Chelsea (66.86) and Manchester City (64.3) are predicted to make up the top-four spots in the Premier League. If England manages to get five spots for Champions League qualification, it would see Crystal Palace earn a spot in the competition with their fifth-place finish (60.56).

Burnley and Sunderland are predicted to be relegated back to the EFL Championship after promotion last season, although Leeds United are tipped to retain their top-flight status. Wolves are the final club predicted to be relegated this season.
