Arsenal could be without four players against Atletico Madrid, whereas their opponents could be missing two players for the game.
The Gunners come off a 1-0 win against Fulham in the Premier League, which has given them a three point lead over Man City in second place. Even better for the Gunners, rivals Liverpool lost their fourth game in a row, and so Mikel Arteta‘s side are now in a great position to challenge for the league title.

Arsenal are also targeting silverware in Europe, as they won both their opening games in the Champions League too. They return to Europe on Tuesday night, and welcome La Liga giants Atletico Madrid to the Emirates kicking off at 8 pm.
But, heading into the game, Arsenal could be without four players for the game, furthermore, Madrid have two names ruled out of the match, which could prove to be pivotal.
Atletico Madrid injury news
Ilias Kostis – Ruled out (ACL)
Firstly, Madrid defender Kostis is out for a long period of time as he is dealing with an ACL injury which is set to keep him on the side-lines for a significant amount of time. However, he doesn’t play much for the first team, so isn’t a huge absentee for Atletico.
Johnny Cardoso – Ruled out (Ankle)
Secondly, US international Cardoso is dealing with an ankle injury which is set to keep him out of the game against Arsenal on Tuesday. The 24-year-old made four La Liga appearances before getting injured, and will be missed in Diego Simeone’s midfield for sure.
Arsenal injury news
Gabriel Jesus – Ruled out (ACL)
Jesus continues to deal with his long-term ACL injury that he suffered in January. At this stage, it is looking like he may return for the Gunners a year on in January.
Martin Odegaard – Ruled out (knee)
Last week, Arteta confirmed that Odegaard would miss more time than expected. He told the media: “There’s no definite date for his return, but he’s evolving well. It’s very unlucky what’s happening with him and his injuries this season, but I think he will be back in a few weeks. It could be [after the next international break], but we’ll have to see how he progresses. It’s too early to give an answer.”
Kai Havertz – Ruled out (knee)
Much like Odegaard, Havertz isn’t ready to come back yet, and the German international could be making his return in November.
Arteta said: “He’s really pushing it. We know Kai, and that’s why we love him so much, but we have to wait and see. He wants to break every timeline, I’m sure, but that’s why we have to protect him and make sure that when he comes back, he comes back for the long term.”
Noni Madueke – Ruled out (knee)
Madueke is working to make a return, but he’s realistically looking at after the November international break much like Havertz and Odegaard, a huge blow for Arteta.
