Max Dowman scored twice for Arsenal’s under-19 side but could not help them to avoid defeat to Atletico Madrid.
The 15-year-old scored two penalties for his side as the young Gunners were beaten 4-3.
Harrison Dudziak opened the scoring early on for Arsenal before Sergio Vinatea equalised.
Dowman’s first spot-kick put the Gunners back in front but Sergio Esteban also scored a penalty to level before Ruben Gomez made it 3-2.
The Arsenal wonderkid looked to have secured a draw for his side with a second penalty of the game but Barrios struck to make it 4-3 and give Atletico victory.
Dowman likely will not be involved with the senior side when Arsenal’s first team take on Atletico in the Champions League on Tuesday night due to his involvement in this game.
