Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has said that Arsenal are “excellent” and could win the Premier League and the Champions League.
The Gunners come off a third consecutive win in Europe, as they managed to beat La Liga side Atletico Madrid 4-0 at the Emirates, in what was somewhat of a rout against a very good Madrid side.

Arsenal have now won their last six games in all competitions, and sit atop both the Premier League table and the Champions League table. Furthermore, Mikel Arteta‘s side are currently among the favourites in both competitions, and look nailed to walk away with silverware this season.
They will be looking ahead to a tough match over the weekend as they play against Crystal Palace, who have already beaten Liverpool this season in the Premier League, however, the Gunners are a step above Liverpool at the moment based on current form and performance levels.
Sherwood admits Arsenal can win the Champions League
Amid the Gunners’ spectacular form at the moment, former Tottenham manager and fan Tim Sherwood has admitted that he thinks Arsenal aren’t only the obvious choice to win the Premier League, but also have a good shot at the Champions League too.
He said on Sky Sports after the Atletico Madrid win: “Arsenal were excellent, I think they’ve been excellent all season, I was very impressed with them, and I can’t see it stopping.
“The balance of their squad now, the acquisitions they’ve made in certain areas, I see them very strong in all departments and I think obviously in the Premier League they are the team to beat, and you have to say they’re going to go a long way in this competition too [the Champions League]. Mikel Arteta is using his group perfectly.”
The Gunners are one of the Champions League favourites
Despite their impressive 4-0 rout of Atletico, the Gunners still aren’t the outright favourites to win the Champions League, that honour still belongs to last year’s winners Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Oddschecker, PSG are backed at odds of 9/2 to win the competition, whereas Arsenal are narrowly behind them at 11/2.
In terms of other favourites, Barcelona are backed at 9/1, and Bayern Munich are backed at 10/1, with the next English team being Man City at 12/1.
