Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have been told they should turn to Freddie Ljungberg to achieve their dream of taking Wrexham to the Premier League. The Welsh side have suffered a difficult start to life in the Championship this season and are currently 19th in the table, just two points and three places above the relegation zone.
Manager Phil Parkinson still has credit in the bank after leading Wrexham to three consecutive promotions in their last few campaigns. Club director Shaun Harvey recently made it clear that the former Sunderland boss has the backing of board members, despite speculation emerging over his future.
However, the Red Dragons have so far struggled to gel after spending £33million on 13 new recruits during the summer transfer window. It's now been suggested that Arsenal legend Ljungberg, who has had coaching roles with the Gunners and Wolfsburg since retiring from playing football in August 2012, would be the perfect man to take Wrexham into the top flight if they decide to part ways with Parkinson.
The idea has been floated by Ljungberg's ex-Arsenal and Sweden team-mate Anders Limpar, who reckons the 48-year-old has the correct attributes to succeed at the Hollywood-owned club.
"Should Ryan Reynolds speak to Freddie Ljungberg about the Wrexham job in the future? Yes, why not," he told Hajper. "Freddie Ljungberg is a good communicator. I think he’s ready to step in to take on another team. He has the right personality.
"Unfortunately he got the sack from Wolfsburg and then suddenly he just stopped, but that's not fair on Freddie because when he talks about football, he is a very clever guy and he can see the systems as an analyst as well. For whoever gives him another chance, he will be an unbelievable manager.
"In general, if you ask a Swedish person about Wrexham they don't have a clue, but for those of us who are following the Premier League and the Championship, for sure they are known as a small club who are trying to get up the leagues.

"We have Melburg, Freddie and Henrik Larsson. All three are potentially very good managers. It was between Graham Potter and Olof Melburg for the Swedish job. So give them a chance. There would be no regrets for the club."
Ljungberg had a brief stint as interim boss of Arsenal in 2019 following Unai Emery's departure and just before Mikel Arteta's arrival. He left the club the following year but was held in high regard for his impressive work with the Gunners' youth teams.
He has since managed the N5 FC team in the Baller League, alongside Jens Lehmann and Robert Pires. Wrexham's next Championship game will see them face Oxford United on Wednesday night as they seek their first home win of the season.
A tough test away at Middlesbrough, who are currently second in the league, will follow on Saturday in what could be a crucial period for Parkinson ahead of the next international break in November.
