After a hard fought first half, the Gunners exploded in the second half on Tuesday to light up the Emirates with four goals.
Viktor Gyokeres had two goals while Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes scored one each to help lead the lads to a sweet Champions League win over Atletico Madrid.
Even though Gyokeres won the Man of the Match Award, my vote would have gone to Bukayo Saka who destroyed the left side of the Atletico defense all night long. Saka dominated that side of the pitch and provided deep penetration though out the contest. This has Gooners very encouraged now that Gyokeres has found his scoring boots once again.
Hats off to the Gunners defense as well! They have now recorded nine clean sheets in eleven games, and allowed only three goals to be scored in all competitions. Also, let’s not forget this Arsenal defense has allowed only one shot on goal in the last three matches. These amazing stats have the football world talking.
It’s hard not to brag about Arsenal this season. Of course, there are a lot of games to go, but so far this has been a tremendous start for Mikel Arteta and his squad.
It has been a true team effort. Let’s hopes the magic continues!
Cheers.
