They come off a 4-0 win against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, and easily look like one of the best teams in the world right now.
Crystal Palace drew 3-3 to Bournemouth in their last Premier League game, and certainly will challenge the solid Arsenal defence. It could be a great chance for the Gunners to extend their lead at the top of the table from three points.
Merson and Sutton think the Gunners will beat Palace
Ahead of the weekend’s round of Premier League fixtures, Paul Merson and Chris Sutton, as always have made their predictions on each score line for SportsKeeda and BBC Sport respectively.
However, this weekend, they both agree, as they both said that Arsenal will beat Palace 2-0 at the Emirates on Sunday.
Firstly, Sutton said: “Crystal Palace have given Arsenal some trouble in the past but how can anyone back against Mikel Arteta’s side at the moment? They are like a juggernaut, and not just because of their strength at set-pieces.
“It is the Gunners’ defence that impresses me the most at the moment, though. I am only half-joking when I say I am not going to back anyone to score against them in the league for the rest of the season, because it is their ability to keep clean sheets that will help them win the title.”
Merson agreed with Sutton, suggesting that Arsenal’s defence will be the key in this match, and in the title race. He said: “Arsenal are mind-blowing at the back and they have some nice fixtures coming up. In fact, Arsenal don’t play Manchester City or Liverpool until the New Year. The title race could be all over by then!”
