Yeovil Town have strengthened their midfield options with the addition of 20-year-old Max Jolliffe, who joins the club on loan from Colchester United for the remainder of the 2025–26 campaign.
The deal, confirmed via an official announcement on the club’swebsite, marks another calculated move by the Glovers as they look to climb the National League table.
Jolliffe arrives at Huish Park with an impressive footballing background, having developed through Arsenal’s prestigious academy before moving to Colchester United in 2022. The promising midfielder penned his first professional contract with the League Two outfit in June 2024 and made his senior debut earlier this year in a commanding 3-0 win over Fleetwood Town, a performance that underlined his growing potential.
Before breaking into Colchester’s first team, Jolliffe gained valuable experience in non-league football with loan spells at Maldon & Tiptree and Billericay Town, where he showcased his technical ability and adaptability in competitive settings.

Yeovil boss Richard Dryden expressed his delight at securing the midfielder’s services, praising both his quality and footballing intelligence.
“Max is a talented young midfielder with great pedigree,” Dryden said. “He’s composed on the ball, reads the game well, and has shown real maturity for his age. We’re delighted to have him with us until the end of the season.”

The move comes at a crucial juncture for Yeovil, who currently sit 13th in the National League after 15 matches. Despite flashes of promise including a hard-fought draw against high-flying Rochdale, inconsistent form and defensive lapses have hindered their push toward the top half of the table. Jolliffe’s arrival is expected to add creativity and balance in the middle of the park, giving Dryden more tactical flexibility heading into the winter schedule.
Competition for Jolliffe’s signature was reportedly strong, with several lower-league clubs expressing interest. For Colchester, the loan provides a valuable opportunity for their young talent to gain consistent first-team minutes, while Yeovil benefit from a player eager to prove himself at senior level.
The Glovers will now hope Jolliffe’s composure and pedigree can help spark a resurgence in form as they continue their push away from the lower reaches of the table.
