**Arsenal legend Thierry Henry says the Gunners’ squad depth has convinced him that there are serious contenders for the Premier League title.**
Henry claims he has always backed his former club to finish in top spot, but this season, he is not just speaking with his heart, but also his head:
“I always say that to win the league, you need a squad. Having some guys who can jump in when the No. 9 is not scoring is what will make the difference.”
“I used to feel that Arsenal could win the league as a fan, because you dream and you hope. For the first time in a long time, I can see this team winning the league – not just as an Arsenal fan, but as a football fan and an analyst. I see it, because they are united.”
Arsenal have the requisite cover even for a major injury crisis
---------------------------------------------------------------
Past title challenges have faltered due to injuries to one or two key players. Mikel Arteta’s side had to make do without William Saliba for the final few months of the 2022/23 season, and that ultimately proved to be their downfall.
Last season, both Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka were absent for long periods, allowing Liverpool to run away with the league.
The same two players have already had spells [**on the sidelines**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-vs-crystal-palace-injury-news-noni-madueke-martin-odegaard-gabriel-jesus/) this season too, but with Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze in the squad, their absences have not been as keenly felt.
What are the current Premier League title odds?
-----------------------------------------------
After recent results, the Gunners are now regarded as firm favourites to win their first league title since 2003.
Arteta’s men are odds-on at every bookmaker, with Manchester City currently priced at 10/3, while reigning champions Liverpool have seen their odds lengthen to 4/1 following several defeats.
