Gabriel Martinelli has declared that Arsenal players are ready to achieve “big things” as they head into what he describes as the biggest season of their lives. The Gunners currently sit top of the Premier League, boast a perfect record in the Champions League, and are firmly in the hunt for major trophies across all competitions.
For Martinelli, the motivation goes beyond club glory. The Brazilian winger revealed that the prospect of representing his country at next year’s World Cup has given Arsenal’s international stars even more drive.
It has been more than two decades since the Gunners last lifted the Premier League title during the famous Invincibles campaign of 2004, and the club has never won the European Cup. But with the depth and quality of their current squad, Martinelli believes this could finally be the season that changes.
“We really believe that we are going to achieve big things this season,” Martinelli said. “We have an amazing group with really good players so we trust in ourselves. We play for Arsenal. We want to win titles – the Premier League, the FA Cup, the League Cup and the Champions League.

“I’m trying my best. I always have and I will keep doing that, it’s a big season and we want to win titles. The World Cup is coming up as well so everyone wants to play and give your best.”
Arsenal have finished runners-up in the title race in each of the past three seasons, with last year’s campaign ending in disappointment as they chased Liverpool all the way to the final weeks. This time, Mikel Arteta’s men have started strong and will look to keep their place at the top when they face Crystal Palace on Sunday.

However, Martinelli knows from experience that reaching the summit is only half the battle.
“It’s easier to get there, but it’s more complicated to stay there so we are going to work on that. This is what we are working for. But we have an amazing team, amazing fans and we are going to give our best. We play for Arsenal, we like to play alongside the good players and we are happy.”

The 24-year-old has earned immense respect for his professionalism and mentality, both at Arsenal and with the Brazil national team. Brazil are expected to be among the front-runners for the World Cup alongside England and Spain, who also boast several Arsenal stars.
Martinelli’s determination to perform at the highest level has become one of his biggest strengths. He scored in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid earlier this week and previously netted decisive goals from the bench against Manchester City and Athletic Bilbao this season.
At club level, he faces strong competition from Leandro Trossard and Eberechi Eze, while on the international stage, he’s battling with Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Raphinha for a place in Brazil’s attack. Yet, Martinelli views this rivalry as motivation rather than pressure.
