Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber spoke to the media after the Gunners’ 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
A single goal from former Eagles star Eberechi Eze proved to be enough to win the game, paving the way for Arsenal to go four points clear at the top of the table.
Timber gave his thoughts on the victory, what it means, and the Gunners’ start to the campaign to the Arsenal media team.
“They are a very tough team to play against”
Palace proved to be a difficult opponent for Mikel Arteta’s side as they frustrated Arsenal and provided a threat themselves, especially in the first half.
“[The game was] very hard”, agreed Timber.

“I think we knew before that it wasn't going to be easy, no Premier League match is an easy match, but Palace have been doing really well, and I think they showed today again that they're a very tough team to play against.”
He continued: “Credit to them, but also credit to us. I think we played really well.
“It was a tough match, but we found a way to win and I think that's the most important part. A clean sheet again, which is good, gives us confidence, so, a lot of good things to build on and to get better."
Timber also praised Arsenal's defensive displays. The Gunners have now kept a clean sheet in each of their last five matches in all competitions.
"Everyone plays a part in it, but it's a good thing and a good foundation to build on," he said.
"From that standard, you just have to keep getting better and be consistent in what we do, and then throughout the whole season, hopefully we'll turn into something beautiful."
“It gives you confidence and it shows that we're doing really well, and also, if it's for multiple games in a row, I think it says something about consistency," he added.
"We just have to keep that going game-by-game, keep improving, look at what we can do better still, but also take that feeling with you, that confidence and go into the next game with the same mindset.”
