Arsenal fans, brace yourselves — Gary Neville believes this could finally be the year the Gunners end their long wait for a Premier League crown.
The former Manchester United defender, who’s seen his fair share of title races, says Mikel Arteta’s men already have what it takes — as long as they keep doing one simple thing: stay consistent.
After Arsenal’s gritty 1–0 win over Crystal Palace, Neville praised the North London side’s maturity and defensive control.
He said on The Gary Neville Podcast, “This has got to be them, hasn’t it? This has got to be their year.” It’s not the first time he’s backed Arsenal, but this time, the tone was different — it sounded like belief rather than banter.
Neville noted that Arsenal won’t need record-breaking numbers to get over the line.
“They’re not going to have to go and get 100 points,” he explained. “Mid-80s, high 80s will win them this title, and they can do that.”

“It’s yours to win,” Neville tells Arsenal
The Sky Sports pundit didn’t stop there.
He urged Arteta’s men to stay calm and avoid getting carried away, adding, “They don’t need to do anything spectacular here. Just keep doing what you do, and you will win this league. It’s yours to win. This is your title, Arsenal.”
For a man known to wind up Arsenal fans in the past, that’s quite the U-turn. But Neville’s reasoning is hard to argue with.
Arsenal have been solid at the back — conceding just three times in their first nine games — and boast one of the most reliable defenses in Europe.
Sure, they may not have a superstar striker, but with Eberechi Eze, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard all chipping in, goals aren’t in short supply either.
As Neville put it, “They’re very reliable. You can trust them.”
Former Liverpool man Jamie Carragher even joined the chorus, calling Gabriel “the most influential player in the Premier League right now.” High praise, especially from a rival.
With rivals like Manchester City and Liverpool stumbling, Arsenal’s steady approach could finally pay off.
If consistency really is the key, then Arsenal might just have their hands on the keys to the Premier League trophy cabinet.
