Arsenal trio look to set miss midweek Albion cup tie

Three Arsenal players are likely to be ruled out of their Carabao Cup tie against [Albion](https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/?ref=au).

The trio appeared to suffer injuries in a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

While information on their condition post-match was limited, it would appear unlikely they will face the Seagulls in Wednesday night’s fourth-round tie at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta was awaiting news on injuries sustained to William Saliba, Declan Rice and Riccardo Calafiori.

His side return to league action with a trip to face Burnley on Saturday.

Saliba did not emerge after the interval against Palace while Rice and Calafiori were replaced in the second half.

A cryptic Arteta added: “On William there were two things related to his substitution, and with Declan I don’t really know because it was a knock.

“I don’t know if it was his calf or Achilles. Tomorrow we will have more news.”

While the Carabao Cup is hardly a priority for Arsenal, they will be keen to keep momentum going and have their strongest squad for several seasons.

Arteta said: “We are where we are (in the league) and it is a credit to us because we’ve been very, very consistent, but it really doesn’t mean anything other than let’s keep doing a lot of things that we’re doing really well.

“There are things to improve as well to give us better margins.”

Arsenal have kept clean sheets in each of their last five games in the Premier League and Champions League and have only let in three goals in 12 games in all competitions this season.
