Arsenal ‘challenging big clubs’ for 19-year-old – Gunners official already sent

On October 6th, we covered claims from Italy that Arsenal had sent a scout to watch AC Milan’s Davide Bartesaghi live against Juventus.

He played as a left wing-back in the goalless draw. The Arsenal official also watched Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz in the same clash.

MilanLive.it backs up Arsenal watching the 19-year-old and provides more on this case.

Bartesaghi came through the ranks of the Rossoneri’s academy and was promoted to their first team in 2023. This season, Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri has utilised him regularly in the absence of injured Pervis Estupiñán.

The Italy U21 international has played five matches this season so far and his displays have seen clubs take notice. This includes Arsenal, Barcelona and a few unnamed teams.

MilanLive.it have also interviewed journalist Vincenzo Matrone, who explained that Mikel Arteta’s side are ‘pursuing him’. It’s not made clear whether the Gunners have made an approach yet.

Arsenal are said to be ‘challenging big clubs’ to secure the player’s services.

Back in May, Bartesaghi extended his contract until 2030. This puts Milan in a comfortable position, to either fend off interest or negotiate a potential transfer.
