**Mikel Arteta**had his say on the performance of **Eberechi Eze**against Crystal Palace.
The **Arsenal**attacker moved for £68 million from the Eagles this summer, but he did not give an easy time to his former employers. An explosive ball carrier in central areas, he made the difference with a flying volley from the edge of the penalty area to separate the sides in a 1-0 victory for the hosts.
It was the first Premier League goal that the summer signing has scored for his new club, and he is continuing to adapt to the demands of a new system. Eze might be at his best in a freer role from the elft, but he is doing his best to throw himself into the framework that the table toppers demand.
“To strike the ball in the manner he did it, very similar to where he did it last year against us when he scored from that corner, directly on the post. He’s got the ability to do that, against a team that defends with that many bodies, so physical, don’t allow any space with nine defending your best player, you have to generate chaos or open space to generate big chances and he took the ball and the goal really well.
*“He’s always super relaxed before the game, always a big smile on his face. He’s desperate to play games, and I haven’t noticed anything different. It might be inside him, he was there a long time, he has such strong feelings and gratitude to Crystal Palace, and today was a very special game for him.*
“No it’s not [easy to perform against your old club], that’s what big players do and he’s certainly a big player. Hopefully that’s going to give him a big boost and confidence to generate many more moments like this, because these are the moments that sometimes define a season.”
