Arsenal Injury News: Gunners Face Major Scare With Rice, Saliba And 2 More Added To Injury List

Four new Arsenal players have been added to their injury list ahead of their next game against Brighton in the Carabao Cup.

The Gunners are on a fantastic winning run, with victories in their last seven matches. Their most recent win was a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace at the weekend, which has handed them a four point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

They turn their attention to the cup this week though, as on Wednesday they will play against a tough Brighton side, who recently lost 4-2 to Manchester United. Fabian Hurzeler’s side will be desperate to have a deep cup run this season, so it could be a tough test for Arsenal.

Furthermore, the Gunners could be without four more players on top of their long-term injuries, as there has been developments in Arteta’s team news.

4 Arsenal players added to injury list

After the win against Palace, four new names appeared on Arsenal’s injury list, which could be of major concern to Mikel Arteta.

Firstly, William Saliba had to be taken off at half time against Palace with a knock that he picked up during the game. He is currently being assessed, but seeing as he had to be taken off on Sunday, he will likely miss the game on Wednesday night.

Declan Rice is also a doubt, as he appeared to suffer a calf injury, which has turned out to be a contusion of his lower leg. Rice is now being assessed too, and unlikely to feature against Brighton, as Arteta would probably rather rest him.

Riccardo Calafiori picked up a knock against Brighton too, meaning that Myles Lewis-Skelly could be in line to start against Brighton. Finally, Gabriel Martinelli is also a doubt, after suffering a muscle issue over the weekend. It means that in total, Arsenal could be without eight players this week.

Who else is injured?

The other four names that are injured include Gabriel Jesus, who has been out since January with an ACL injury. He has been sat on the side-lines for the longest period ahead of Kai Havertz, who has been out since August.

Havertz is dealing with a knee injury, and as things stand is looking to make a return in late November. The German is on a similar time line to Martin Odegaard, who has a knee issue too. Odegaard is looking to return after the November international break.

Noni Madueke is also looking to return in late November after he suffered a knee injury in September, so Arteta will hope to have him back before the busy Christmas period.
