Paul Scholes has confessed he remains "unconvinced" by Arsenal's attacking prowess this campaign, despite the Gunners securing yet another Premier League win at the weekend against Crystal Palace. Eberechi Eze's strike against his old club proved decisive as Mikel Arteta's side extended their advantage at the Premier League summit to four points.
The victory marked their eighth consecutive success across all competitions. Yet, despite approaching the fourth month of the 2025/26 campaign in flawless form, doubts have surfaced regarding Arsenal's cutting edge in attack.
Arteta's outfit have netted more than twice on just three occasions and have triumphed by a solitary goal four times. Following five goals in his opening 13 appearances for the club, Gyokeres has faced scrutiny - from certain quarters - for his inability to provide regular goals after his initial £55million switch from Sporting CP.
More than a week ago, Gary Lineker maintained the forward must "start scoring" if Arsenal hope to conclude their 21-year wait to become English champions. "I think for Arsenal to really realise their ambitions, he's going to have to start scoring a lot of goals," he told The Rest is Football podcast.
Scholes has now, also, weighed in on Arsenal's potential shortage of ruthlessness in the final third. The former Manchester United midfielder has acknowledged he's yet to be captivated by the north Londoners' displays this season.
"After nine games, at this point in every season, you've probably seen a performance where you think; 'They're going to win the league'," Scholes commented on his show 'The Good, The Bad and The Football'. "I still don't think I've seen that from Arsenal or anybody yet."

He continued: "I think the closest we had probably got to it was the Newcastle game away - where I thought they were really good. Now, not that I'm not impressed by it. Defensively, yeah, you have to be impressed by it, but I still don't think it's really clicking going forward.
"Like last couple years, you've seen Liverpool play. I remember watching Liverpool at Man Utd last year. I thought; 'Jesus, that's a good team'. Now, I know United weren't in a great place. You watched City over the last four years, and think; 'Bloody hell, they're a good team'.
"Especially going forward - that's what excites me - not so much with the defensive side of it. But we're watching them go forward and the goals they score. I haven't seen that from any team yet where I've thought; 'They're going to win the league'."
