Arsenal set record for six wins in October with no goals conceded

With the season now a few months old, the action is starting to ramp up for Arsenal and their rivals.

October proved to be a tricky month for the Gunners, who faced off against plenty of teams that have given them trouble in the past.

Arteta seemingly overcame the ghosts that haunted his side and in fine fashion too, winning every game across all competitions.

Perhaps what is even more impressive is that they managed to do so while keeping a clean sheet in every single game.

As per Opta, this is the first time in English top-flight history that a side have managed to win as many games while keeping clean sheets in every match.

Arsenal’s win over Brighton may have come with some fortune in keeping the clean sheet intact, but ultimately, those missed opportunities from the Seagulls helped to create history.

It’s a record that not even Liverpool or Manchester United managed in their prime when chasing down titles and cups.

It shows how much work is being put into the defence, giving the foundations for Arsenal to work from.

While their rivals are inconsistent in their performances and results, the Gunners continue to do what they are best at.

Mikel Arteta discusses Arsenal squad depth

One of the main advantages that Arsenal now have is the quality in depth within the squad itself.

Even with a few injuries to key players, the Gunners have been able to field competitive teams across all of their fixtures.

It’s something Mikel Arteta didn’t have the luxury of before, but now he is relishing the chance to use a deeper squad.

He said, after Arsenal’s win over Brighton: “It’s going to make us stronger because, again, the easy thing maybe is to make some changes in that moment. I really believe in them.

“We could adjust a few things and be better, improve certain individuals with certain positions as well, that I think it was important, and after that, now they have a good feeling that they can compete and beat a really good Premier League team. Overall, we have a lot to learn.”

While it’s still early in the season, momentum is with Arsenal, and there is a real belief they can end that wait for a trophy or two.
