REPORT: Arsenal Lining Up Bid For£35m La Liga Striker Wanted By Man United And Man City To Replace Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal are reportedly lining up a bid for a La Liga striker to be their long-term replacement for Gabriel Jesus.

The Gunners are currently preparing for a game against Burnley in the Premier League this weekend, which could see them extend their four point lead at the top of the table. Everything seems to be going well for Arteta’s side at the moment heading into the winter period.

However, they have had some injury problems, with several players missing a significant amount of time over the past year. One of those is Gabriel Jesus, who is looking to return from his ACL injury before the January transfer window.

Despite Arsenal missing him for the past year, the Gunners are preparing to sell Jesus in January, as he is Arsenal’s second-highest-paid player, and with his injury problems, they could be looking to move on from him this winter. He has said that he would be willing to return to his former club Palmeiras, who are reportedly interested in bringing him back.

Arsenal lining up bid for Gabriel Jesus replacement

If Arsenal do sell Jesus, they will only have Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz who can play up front, and will need to add more depth, especially considering Havertz’s recent injury problems too.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal are eyeing up a move for Levante striker Karl Etta Eyong alongside the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Barcelona heading into the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old is the second-top-scorer in la Liga currently with five goals, he is just behind Kylian Mbappe in the Spanish top division. Etta Eyong has been at Levante since the summer, but has already managed to score five goals in seven games.

His early impressive performances have caught the eyes of several top European clubs, and with a release clause of £35m, he could be a reasonable price for such a good and young goal scorer too. If Arsenal were to sign him, he could be the ideal replacement for Jesus, as he is younger, but also has shown recent goal-scoring form, something that Jesus has not had the chance to do because of his recent injury struggles.
