Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table with a comfortable win over Burnley on Saturday.
Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice were both on target for Arsenal in a dominant first-half display at Turf Moor as they made it nine wins in a row across all competitions.
With Bournemouth, who began the weekend in second, not in action until Sunday when they travel to Manchester City, victory over the Clarets meant the Gunners moved seven points clear at the summit prior to Tottenham’s clash with Chelsea.
Already boasting the best defence across the entire division, Arsenal were boosted by the return of William Saliba after he missed the midweek Carabao Cup tie against Brighton.
The Frenchman was one of 10 changes made by Gunners boss Mikel Arteta as he reverted back to the team that started the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace last weekend.
