Scott Parker has tipped Arsenal to go all the way in the Premier League title race after watching his Burnley side suffer a comprehensive defeat at the hands of Mikel Arteta’s men.

First-half goals from Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice set the tone for a commanding 2-0 victory at Turf Moor, a result that extended Arsenal’s run of clean sheets to seven consecutive matches in all competitions.

The Gunners were dominant before the break, but their intensity dipped slightly in the second half following the withdrawals of Gyokeres, who was forced off with a muscular issue, and Martin Zubimendi, who was substituted as a precaution.

Despite being without several key figures including captain Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli, Arsenal still proved far too strong for their hosts, comfortably collecting another three points to strengthen their position at the top of the table.

“They’re just a very, very good team,” admitted Parker in his post-match press conference. “They’re a team who I believe have every single ingredient to go and win the league this year.

“In every facet of their game, defensively, attacking-wise, set plays, they’re a top, top team. We just fell a little bit short today.”

Arsenal’s opener came through a familiar and well-drilled set-piece routine. From a Declan Rice corner, Gabriel Magalhaes cleverly redirected the ball back across goal for Gyokeres to head home from close range.

Parker acknowledged the Gunners’ growing reputation as a major threat from dead-ball situations. “If you don’t have those players you probably don’t score as many as Arsenal are scoring,” he said.

“It’s not just down to those two (Gabriel and Saliba). You’ve got a delivery taker. Every single time you ask it to be put back post it goes back post. You ask it to be put front post and the runs are there it gets put there.

“You’ve also got the timing of the runs, the physicality of the runs and they’re extremely good at it. Other than the actual natural talent they have and the willingness to attack the ball, sometimes it’s difficult.

“There’s many a team who have had their struggles against them. You’re always trying to find ways.

“For us it was about trying to get more control than we’ve had against top sides like against Liverpool and Manchester United when we’ve played them. Can we get a certain control while being a threat?”

Arsenal’s latest triumph further underlined their tactical versatility, depth, and defensive resilience, traits that, according to Parker, make them serious contenders to lift the Premier League trophy this season.
