Arsenal strengthened their position at the top of the Premier League with a commanding 2-0 victory over Burnley, extending their flawless defensive run to seven consecutive clean sheets in all competitions.
The Gunners were composed and dominant from the opening whistle at Turf Moor, maintaining control throughout and rarely allowing the hosts a glimpse of goal.
It took just 14 minutes for Mikel Arteta’s side to find the breakthrough. Declan Rice’s corner was flicked on by Gabriel Magalhaes, and Viktor Gyokeres was on hand to nod home from close range, giving Arsenal an early lead.

The Sweden international then played a crucial role in the second goal just before half-time. Bursting forward on the counterattack, Gyokeres slipped a well-timed pass to Leandro Trossard on the wing. The Belgian delivered a perfect cross into the box, where Rice met it with a powerful header that flew past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
Beyond their on-field success, Arsenal are also making moves off the pitch. According toFichajes, the club has held positive talks with Bukayo Saka’s representatives as they look to secure the England star’s long-term future.

The Gunners are reportedly optimistic about reaching an agreement in the coming months that would see Saka become one of the club’s top earners, with a new deal worth around £300,000 per week. Both sides are said to be aligned on the structure of the extension, easing earlier concerns about salary demands.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that discussions are progressing smoothly, with negotiations over contract length and protective clauses nearing completion. Saka’s current deal, signed in 2023, runs until 2027, but with 18 months remaining come January, Arsenal are keen to act swiftly amid interest from Liverpool and Manchester City.
Since breaking into the first team in 2019, the Hale End academy graduate has developed into Arsenal’s standout performer and one of Europe’s brightest young talents, recording 74 goals and 71 assists in 275 appearances. This season alone, the 24-year-old has already contributed four goals in all competitions.
For Arsenal, securing Saka’s future is more than just a renewal, it’s a statement of ambition and belief in the project Arteta continues to build.
