Gabriel Magalhaes continues to make an impact for Arsenal in defence and in attack, with the defender grabbing yet another goal contribution in the win against Burnley.

The Gunners extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points on Saturday, with Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice ensuring a comfortable afternoon for Mikel Arteta's side. Gabriel set up Gyokeres' opener, with the Brazilian keeping alive Declan Rice's deep corner and putting the ball back onto the Swede's head.

It was the centre-back's third assist of the season, with the 27-year-old also getting on the scoresheet against Atletico Madrid and Newcastle. The win over Burnley was the Gunners' ninth straight win all competitions and fifth in the top flight.

On Sunday, Gabriel took to Instagram and shared a number of images from Saturday's match. "Momentum building," the defender said in the post's caption.

Burnley failed to lay a glove on the Londoners, with their first effort on goal coming through Florentino Luis’ header in the 73rd minute before substitute Marcus Edwards’ free-kick hit a post deep in stoppage time.

Arteta said: “We started the game exceptionally well. I think the first half is one of the best that we’ve played, scored two goals, generated another two or three big chances and conceded nothing.

“And that was a platform, because in the second half we dropped the standards, especially with the ball, and with our intentions to play more forward. But again, defensively, we were exceptional.”

He added: "Well, obviously very happy, a really tough place to come. They’ve lost once in 18 months against Liverpool in the last kick of the game by a penalty, so that tells you the difficulty of that.
