October was our second consecutive unbeaten month, and you can have your say on who our star performer was by voting for our Player of the Month!
We recorded six straight wins against Olympiacos, West Ham United, Fulham, Atletico Madrid, Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion to continue to march on in three competitions, and did't concede a goal in all of those victories.
While there were numerous options to choose from this month, we've narrowed it down to these four contenders:
Gabriel
Big Gabi had a superb month, helping us keep six successive clean sheets in October. He also scored the all-important first goal against Atletico Madrid, as well as providing an assist for Viktor Gyokeres later in that game.
He then got another assist when he nodded across goal for Leandro Trossard to score the winner at Fulham, and his set-piece prowess played a key part in Ebere Eze’s crucial strike against Crystal Palace to keep the winning run going.
Declan Rice
Like Gabi, Declan played a part in all six of our matches across three competitions, and his dead-ball delivery led to two goals against Atletico, including the assist for Gabriel’s opener, and another against Crystal Palace.
However he also managed to get on the scoresheet himself when he netted a composed finish against his former club West Ham in our 2-0 success, to open his account for the campaign.
Bukayo Saka
Back fit, Bukayo has been firing once again. He bagged a late strike against Olympiacos to complete our 2-0 success in the Champions League, and then four days later converted a penalty against the Hammers to seal the victory.
It was his corner that led to Trossard’s goal at Fulham, and then he rounded off the month by tucking home against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup to secure our passage to the quarter-finals.
Jurrien Timber
Another member of our rock-solid defence that has kept six straight clean sheets, Jurrien has played his part in an attacking sense too, and was instrumental in our win against West Ham as he won the penalty converted by Saka.
The Dutch full-back’s displays have been so impressive that he has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for the first time.
