Max Dowman made Champions League history as he came on for Arsenal against Slavia Prague tonight.

Dowman, at the age of 15 years and 308 days, is now the youngest player to ever feature in the competition.

He surpassed Youssoufa Moukoko, who was 16 years and 18 days when he played in the competition for Borussia Dortmund in 2020.

Jack Wilshere was previously Arsenal’s youngest ever Champions League player.

Deployed on the right wing again, Dowman made his fifth senior appearance overall as he came on in the 72nd minute.

Andre Harriman-Annous also came on as a substitute in the 81st minute to make his Champions League debut and his second senior appearance overall.

Goalkeeper Alexei Rojas received his first Champions League callup as he joined Tommy Setford on the bench, while winger Charles Sagoe Jr was also amongst the substitutes.

Arsenal won 3-0 courtesy of a penalty from Bukayo Saka and a brace from Mikel Merino.
