Opta change Arsenal and Liverpool's Champions League chances after latest round of results

Liverpool beat Real Madrid, and Arsenal saw off Slavia Prague during the latest set of Champions League fixtures.

Following a tricky run of form, Arne Slot’s men secured a 1-0 win over Real Madrid at Anfield thanks to a goal from Alexis Mac Allister.

Meanwhile, despite being without Viktor Gyokeres, Mikel Arteta’s men set records earlier in the evening when they hammered Slavia Prague 3-0.

The victories mean Arsenal have now won their opening four games, Liverpool have nine points from 12 and both are among the favourites to win the Champions League this season.

Arsenal and Liverpool’s Champions League chances after Slavia Prague and Real Madrid wins

After the previous round of Champions League results, which saw Arteta and co. beat Atletico Madrid, the North Londoners were favourites to lift the trophy.

At the time, Opta’s supercomputer gave Arsenal 20.47% of winning the showpiece in 2026.

Liverpool, despite smashing Eintracht Frankfurt last time out, were given a 10.36% chance of winning the Champions League.

However, after wins on Tuesday evening, both teams are, according to Opta, more likely to achieve success in Europe’s premier competition.

Arsenal remain favourites, but their chances of Champions League glory have increased to 23.92%.

Bayern Munich are then second favourites (13.51%), Manchester City are third (11.42%) and Liverpool are the fourth-most likely to win (11.02%).

Tottenham Champions League chances after Copenhagen

Elsewhere on November 4, Tottenham beat FC Copenhagen 4-0 in their Champions League meeting.

Micky van de Ven scored a brilliant goal during the clash, helping them maintain their unbeaten start to their European campaign.

The Lilywhites have won two and drawn two of their opening four matches, sitting seventh and one point off Liverpool.

At present, Opta give them a 1.23% chance of winning the 2025/26 Champions League.
