There are growing “fears” that Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres has sustained a hamstring injury, according to BBC reporter Sami Mokbel.
The journalist broke the news last January that the Gunners would be signing Martin Zubimendi in the summer and his sources when it comes to the Gunners are extremely reliable.

Gyokeres was substituted at halftime after scoring the opening goal against Burnley last weekend, but there was optimism that the decision to replace him at Turf Moor would prevent a more serious injury.
However, he was not in the matchday squad for the 3-0 win over Slavia Prague on Tuesday evening and Arteta’s comments in recent days suggest the player could be sidelined for more than a couple of weeks.
What has Arteta said about Gyokeres’s injury?
Speaking in his pre-match press conference before the Champions League fixture against Slavia Prague, the Arsenal manager said:
“I am concerned because he hasn’t had many muscular issues and he needed to leave the pitch and he was feeling something. That’s obviously never a good sign, especially for a player that is very, very explosive.”
“So we are digging in a little bit more to understand where we are in terms of the injury and we’ll announce the moment we know.”
When could the Arsenal striker return to action?
As Arteta points out, a full prognosis has not been carried out yet, so the length of time that Gyokeres will be on the treatment table is not known at this stage.
It’s probably safe to say that the 27-year-old won’t feature against Sunderland on Saturday night. With the international break coming up, though, the hope will be that he will be back in contention for the North London derby versus Tottenham later this month.
