West Ham have revived their pursuit of Saint-Etienne striker Lucas Stassin, according to reports in the French media.
The Belgium Under 21 international was linked with a move to the London Stadium at the start of last summer, but he did not end up joining the Hammers.
However, Jeunes Footeux claim that Nuno Espirito Santo’s team are “interested” in signing Stassin ahead of the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old has had a decent start to the season, having scored 4 goals and provided 3 assists in 12 appearances, but it must be emphasised that he is playing in the French second tier, so it would be a tall order to expect him to start games in the Premier League straight away.
West Ham are looking to replace Fullkrug
The agent of Niclas Fullkrug has made it clear in recent days that the player is seeking a move away from the club, having struggled with his fitness and form since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund last year.
It is believed that the Irons won’t sanction the German’s departure unless a replacement can be brought in. It is up for debate whether Stassin is a suitable candidate, considering his lack of experience of top-level football.
Which other strikers could be pursued?
Three names have been mentioned over the past week (in addition to Stassin). The most concrete link is Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee. West Ham have made a formal enquiry about signing the Dutchman on loan.
Insider source ExWHUEmployee has also suggested Club Brugge’s Romeo Vermant as a potential option, while reports in Italy have mentioned Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus as another alternative. The Brazilian is still recovering from an ACL injury but he is expected to return to full fitness by the end of the year.
