**Ian Wright and Roy Keane expect Man City to beat Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.**
While Wright believes a stalemate would be better for his team, Arsenal, in terms of the title race, he thinks Pep Guardiola’s men will come out on top:
“It would be a good result to draw, but I think City will beat them”
Both Roy Keane and fellow pundit Jill Scott agreed with Wright’s prediction for [**the clash**](https://mancitynews.com/man-city-news-didi-hamann-title-prediction/) on Sunday evening.
Scholes expects Man City to suffer defeat
-----------------------------------------
In contrast to his fellow pundits on the _Stick To Football_ podcast, former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes is backing an away win:
“I have a massive feeling. I just think Liverpool are better. 2-1.”
After the Premier League champions beat Aston Villa and Real Madrid in the space of a few days, Scholes seems to believe the Reds will carry that momentum into the City fixture.
Man City vs Liverpool team news
-------------------------------
The Cityzens are expected to be without Mateo Kovacic. The Croatian international has been struggling with an ankle injury, and Guardiola has confirmed this week that he won’t play again for several months.
Liverpool are still without several players. Head coach Arne Slot has already ruled out Alisson Becker and Jeremie Frimpong (both hamstring) from playing against City, while Giovanni Leoni (ACL) is unavailable for the rest of the season.
There is less certainty about Alexander Isak’s fitness. The striker picked up a groin injury during the 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt and he did not feature in the games against Brentford, Crystal Palace (in the Carabao Cup), Villa and Real.
Slot has suggested that the Swedish international could make the bench this weekend, but it is unlikely that he will be ready to start.
