Tuchel snubs Arsenal starlet in latest England call-up

Myles Lewis-Skelly has not been included in England’s squad for the November international break. The Three Lions are set to face Serbia and Albania in the final round of World Cup Qualifiers.

The Arsenal graduate received his first call-up under Thomas Tuchel earlier this year. However, his playing time has decreased at club level this season due to strong competition at left-back.

The impressive form of Riccardo Calafiori, along with the arrival of Piero Hincapie, has reduced his opportunities in Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Lewis-Skelly will use his exclusion as a chance to focus on club football. The 19-year-old remains highly rated within the England setup and aims to reclaim his spot in future camps.

Tuchel aims to fine-tune his squad

England have already secured their qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Tuchel will use the upcoming fixtures to build rhythm and further develop his tactical ideas.

These games will help his players understand his style of play and improve team chemistry ahead of next year’s tournament.

The Three Lions sealed qualification last month after a convincing 5-0 win against Latvia in Riga.

With qualification confirmed, Tuchel can now experiment with his selections and test players in different roles before the end of the year.

Tuchel has named three Arsenal players in their latest squad, with Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and Eberechi Eze set to feature in the two upcoming matches.

Their consistent performances for Arsenal this season have earned them another chance to represent their country.

England’s 25-man squad

Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Nick Pope (Newcastle United).

Defenders: Dan Burn (Newcastle United), Marc Guéhi (Crystal Palace), Reece James (Chelsea), Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa), Nico O’Reilly (Manchester City), Jarell Quansah (Bayer Leverkusen), Djed Spence (Tottenham Hotspur), John Stones (Manchester City).

Midfielders: Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Jordan Henderson (Brentford), Declan Rice (Arsenal), Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa), Alex Scott (AFC Bournemouth), Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace).

Forwards: Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United), Eberechi Eze (Arsenal), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Marcus Rashford (Barcelona, on loan from Manchester United), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal).

Tuchel’s side will aim to end the qualifying campaign on a strong note. With qualification secured, attention now turns to maintaining form and readiness ahead of next summer’s tournament in North America.
