Mikel Arteta does have some injury concerns heading into the Sunderland game, but he has said that several players including Noni Madueke will return after the international break when Arsenal face North London rivals Tottenham.

Arteta spoke about Martin Odegaard, Noni Madueke and Kai Havertz, and said: “I would say weeks, and some of them pretty soon, hopefully, if they keep evolving the way they are doing. Difficult to put a game… We have an international break, and after that, I think we’ll have some back. I don’t know if it’s going to be all of them, some of them, but we’ll be quite close by then.”

Madueke is expected to return for the game against Tottenham after the break, which is fantastic news for the Gunners.

Will Gyokeres return for the Tottenham game?

One of Arsenal’s recent injury concerns involves striker Viktor Gyokeres, who was taken off at half time with a muscle injury, during the Gunners’ 2-0 win against Burnley last weekend.

It has since been confirmed that the Swedish striker won’t only miss the game against Sunderland at the weekend, he has also been left out of the Sweden squad for the upcoming international break due to his injury.

However, it is understood that he should be back for the Tottenham game after the break though. Arteta said this week: “We need to do some more tests and scans to understand the extent of the injury. So, we are digging in a little bit more to understand where we are in terms of the injury, and we will announce it when we know more.”
