Arsenal transfer plan: Sign rising star forward in January and loan him out

Arsenal and Barcelona are among the clubs in the picture to sign Levante UD star Etta Eyong, according to Sport.

The striker has enjoyed a good start since joining Levante from Villarreal on deadline day. He’s scored six goals and contributed three assists this season.

Etta Eyong’s impressive performances have caught the attention of Arsenal, Barcelona and other clubs.

On October 30th, Mundo Deportivo reported Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City are all looking at him. They also said Barcelona have an advantage over the others.

Last Thursday, Levante CEO José Danvila said his club aren’t planning to part ways with the 22-year-old in the winter market. Recent claims from elsewhere have reported the La Liga club have rejected a €30m bid from CSKA Moscow.

After relaying these claims, Sport provide their own updates on Barcelona interest in the Cameroon international.

Robert Lewandowski’s contract at the Camp Nou expires at the end of this season. Hansi Flick’s side have identified Etta Young as a low-cost option to replace the 37-year-old Pole.

Real Madrid are keeping an eye on him but are unlikely to make advances considering Endrick and Gonzalo García are currently struggling for minutes. Sport then mention the Gunners.

It’s claimed the club that has ‘shown most interest’ in the Cameroonian is Arsenal. Sport state their plan is to sign him in January and send him back on loan to Levante until the end of this season.

Tuesday’s edition of AS covers CKSA Moscow’s failed attempt to sign the frontman.

The newspaper then claims he’s only considering joining a Premier League or another La Liga side. They state Etta Young’s release clause is set at €40m for Premier League clubs.
