Joe Cole Names Liverpool And Chelsea Stars Alongside 5 Arsenal Players In His PL Best XI Of The Season So Far

**Former Liverpool and Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole has selected Dominik Szoboszlai in his Premier League Team of the Season so far.**

The Hungarian international’s form has been one of the few bright spots in what has been a pretty difficult campaign for the Reds.

Szoboszlai’s most memorable moment was undoubtedly the free kick he scored in the final minute against Arsenal back in August.

However, his work rate off the ball has also been phenomenal, leaving many Liverpool supporters questioning why others in the squad can’t follow his example.

Who else has Cole named in his Premier League Best XI?

The _TNT Sports_ pundit has gone with Arsenal’s David Raya in goal, with three other Gunners stars, Jurrien Timber, William Saliba and Gabriel in his back four. Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly makes up the rest of the defence.

In midfield, Szoboszlai is joined by Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo and another Arsenal player, Declan Rice. Up front, Erling Haaland leads the line, with his City teammate Jeremy Doku and Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo either side of him.

Too many Liverpool players are underperforming

----------------------------------------------

It is not hard to explain why Arne Slot’s men are sitting 8th in the table. The Reds have not managed to get the most out of the likes of Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk or Ibrahima Konate, while the club’s newest recruits have not managed to settle in as quickly as hoped.

[**Florian Wirtz**](https://walkon.com/blog/liverpool-news-florian-wirtz-wenger-hutchinson/) has failed to adapt to the physicality of the Premier League, and it is up for debate whether the German will be a success at Anfield.

Alexander Isak, meanwhile, has yet to overcome fitness issues which have been caused by missing pre-season, while Milos Kerkez is struggling to come to terms with playing for a big club. Hugo Ekitike is the only one to have hit the ground running.
