_“There was never contact with another club,”_ Jesus said. _“My wish, as I always say, is to return to Palmeiras. And Palmeiras also want me to come back.”_

The Brazilian has recently resumed training after nine months out with a serious knee injury. He admitted that it is still too early to think about a transfer, especially after such a long recovery period.

_“When I feel it’s the right time to go back to Palmeiras, I’ll decide that with Arsenal,”_ he explained. _“But we’re talking about a player who has been out for nine months and is now fighting to return to the team. Some journalists speak without any basis.”_

Gabriel Jesus also ruled out any chance of leaving Arsenal in January. _“After such a complex surgery, it makes no sense for me to leave the club now,”_ he stated.

During his rehabilitation, the 28-year-old spent part of his Premier League off-season in Brazil and used Palmeiras’ training centre to continue his recovery.

Now, after nearly a year away from the pitch, his attention is fully on regaining fitness and reclaiming a place in Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side.
