Steph Catley commented on a 3-2 defeat for **Arsenal**against Bayern Munich.
The Gunners had gotten a two goal advantage before the end of the first half thanks to strikes from **Emily Fox**and Mariona Caldentey. However, the Bavarians battled back to take all three points at home, reminding the Champions League holders that nothing is guaranteed at the elite level.
“It was a game of two halves, definitely. We came out in the first half and we played how we said we were going to play. We played with intensity, we scored when we needed to, we defended well.
“And I think as the game went on in the second half, they obviously threw everything at it, so they had nothing to lose, and we perhaps didn't roll with those changes as well as we would have hoped.
“Obviously conceding that many goals in a half, and then the game slipped like that. It's just not like us and it's something that we'll be looking back on through the footage and making sure we can improve for the next game, which is in a couple of days.
“[The supporters] come out and they support us in numbers no matter where we are in the world. All we can say is thank you for showing your support. We didn't get the job done tonight, but we'll bounce back and we'll be a better side in the next game. The north London derby is obviously a big one for us.
“The Champions League games, you're playing against some of the best players in the world, some of the best sides in the world, and if you let your level drop even a little bit, then obviously they punish you. So that's, I think, what we've seen tonight and something that we need to learn quickly.
“But yes, I think it just ignites something in us that we want to go out and play our best football and show our fans what this team is about and get on the winning side of things again for them.”
