[Arsenal](https://goonernews.com/) already have one of the best midfields in world football, as the additions of backup playmaker Eberechi Eze and elite anchor Martin Zubimendi have taken the Gunners to another level.
It’s a big reason why Arsenal are first in the Premier League right now and clear title favorites. Zubimendi and Declan Rice are forming a midfield partnership for the ages at the base, and whenever captain Martin Odegaard is out, Eze is a legitimate top-class option to step in.
But Arsenal may not been done assembling their avengers level squad of midfielders, as Caught Offside reports that they are going after PSG superstar Vitinha and are among the elite Premier League clubs dreaming of a move for the Portuguese international.
Vitinha was central to PSG winning the Champions League last season and was so good he merited serious Ballon d’Or contention. Arsenal saw first hand how he can transform a game with his clever touches and movements, as he was THE standout player against them in the semifinals.
Imagine an Arsenal midfield with Vitinha funneling play alongside Rice or Zubimendi, or even imagine him as the No. 10 or even a dual No. 10 with with Odegaard or Eze next to him.
It’s entirely unrealistic and almost implausible to expect PSG to make a player as coveted and as important as Vitinha available, and he’d reportedly cost something like 130 million euros to sign.
But it’s never a bad idea to dream or to think about it, and Arsenal being among the clubs interested goes to show you how ambitious they are and how much they want to dominate midfield battles under Mikel Arteta.
