Arsenal have reportedly entered the race to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi.
The 23-year-old has previously been heavily linked with a potential January move to Premier League rivals Manchester United. However, it now appears they could face competition for the Germany international.
According to TEAMtalk transfer correspondent Fraser Fletcher, Arsenal have joined the hunt for Adeyemi. The Gunners are understood to have made contact with the Dortmund star’s agent, Jorge Mendes, over a possible move, with Mikel Arteta viewing Adeyemi as the ideal profile to strengthen the right-wing position.
Dortmund are reportedly expected to demand around £60 million should they decide to let Adeyemi leave in the January transfer window.
Despite Manchester United’s concrete interest, Adeyemi’s representatives are believed to prefer a move to London over Manchester, giving Arsenal an advantage in the race for his signature.
