Arsenal goalkeeper Jack Porter kept another clean sheet as England progressed to the last 16 of the U17 World Cup with a 2-0 victory against South Korea.

England took the lead in the 28th minute through an own goal from Jung Hui-seop, with Reigan Heskey later making it 2-0.

Porter wasn’t frequently tested but made some good interventions and was also able to play the whole game despite struggling with knocks at times.

Marli Salmon was an unused substitute, as has been the case throughout the tournament so far.

England will play Austria or Tunisia in their next game.

Meanwhile, Victor Ozhianvuna, who will join Arsenal in January 2027, has helped Republic of Ireland to get to the last 16.

Ozhianvuna started and scored a penalty in the shootout as Republic of Ireland overcame Canada following a 1-1 draw.

Republic of Ireland’s next challenge will see them take on Switzerland.
