Premier League big-hitters Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal could have a battle on their hands in the summer. The trio are all monitoring Nathaniel Brown, it has been claimed, with a tug-of-war potentially on the horizon.

Brown, 22, has established himself on the left of Eintracht Frankfurt's defence and received international recognition as a result. The youngster was part of the Germany Under-21 side which lost to England in the Euros final over the summer and earned his first senior cap against Luxembourg in October.

According to Bild (via Sport Witness), Frankfurt are confident of making a significant profit on a player who cost them less than £3million when he signed from Nurnberg in 2024. A sum of €63.5m (more than £55m) has been floated, with Frankfurt's Markus Krosche arguing the left-back is worth a similar amount to what Chelsea paid for Spain defender Marc Cucurella.

“Yes! Because he has three exceptional abilities that you can’t learn. He’s smart and tactically astute, has fantastic technique, and is very fast. And all of that is necessary to have a great career ahead of him," Krosche is quoted as saying while discussing Brown and fellow youngster Can Uzun.

“Now is the wrong time to think about who might leave us and when," he added. "They’re both young and should stay with us a while longer. Can has developed tremendously compared to last year. It’s a shame he’s injured now.

“And Nene (Brown) is simply exceptional. He’s made outstanding progress, especially when it comes to defending at a high level. Just look at how he plays against top opponents in the Champions League.”

Frankfurt have brought in good money for some of their star players in recent seasons. Omar Marmoush fetched £59m when he left for Manchester City in January, while the summer sale of Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool could net them up to £79m including add-ons.

Other big-money recent sales include a pair of sales to Paris Saint-Germain, with Willian Pacho and Randal Kolo Muani fetching more than £120m between them. After their latest summer rebuild, Dino Toppmoller's side currently sit seventh in the Bundesliga, while they have four points from four Champions League games despite suffering a heavy home defeat against Liverpool with Ekitike on target.

Jonathan Burkardt is the latest addition to thrive at Deutsche Bank Park. The German international striker, signed for roughly £18.5m from Mainz over the summer, has nine goals in 15 appearances in all competitions this term. It could be Brown, however, who becomes the latest to fetch a significant fee. The defender, who can also fill in on the left of midfield, is under contract until 2030 and Frankfurt will be under no pressure to sell on the cheap.
