Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti has said he wil have to wait and see when it comes to the extent of Gabriel's injury. The centre-back was forced off during the Selecao's friendly match against Senegal on Saturday, with the Gunners now sweating on his fitness ahead of the North London derby.
Arsenal had earlier received a separate injury blow ahead of their match against next weekend. from the Italy camp and faces a race against time to return for his club against their neighbours.
"Bad? I don’t know, he had a problem on his adductor the medical staff have to check tomorrow," Ancelotti told when asked about Gabriel. "We are really sorry for this, really disappointed, when players have an injury I hope they can recover well and soon.”
Brazil led 2-0 against Senegal when Gabriel's afternoon came to an early end. winger Estevao opened the scoring, with midfielder Casemiro doubling their advantage.
There was an injury setback for Tottenham in the same match. early in the second half after clashing with Brazil's Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha.

Gabriel has been one of Arsenal's stand-out performers this season, and a spell on the sidelines could be a big blow for Mikel Arteta's league leaders. He has started all 11 of the Gunners' games in the , scoring a dramatic late winner at in September and marshalling the stingiest defence in the Premier League.
If he is unable to recover in time for the derby, it could mean a first Premier League start for Piero Hincapie. The summer signing from Bayer Leverkusen started as the left-sided centre-back in Arsenal's Carabao Cup victory over last month but has been used sparingly in the league so far.

Noni Madueke, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli have been sidelined for varying amounts of time, but at least one of the trio could return against Spurs when the league-leaders return to action.
