Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti has said he wil have to wait and see when it comes to the extent of Gabriel's injury. The centre-back was forced off during the Selecao's friendly match against Senegal on Saturday, with the Gunners now sweating on his fitness ahead of the North London derby.

Arsenal had earlier received a separate injury blow ahead of their match against next weekend. from the Italy camp and faces a race against time to return for his club against their neighbours.

Gabriel has been one of Arsenal's stand-out performers this season, and a spell on the sidelines could be a big blow for Mikel Arteta's league leaders. He has started all 11 of the Gunners' games in the , scoring a dramatic late winner at in September and marshalling the stingiest defence in the Premier League.
