Fabrizio Romano shares brand new name Arsenal are set to enter contract talks with after Saka…

Arsenal are planning to offer Declan Rice a new contract amid ongoing talks for new deals for Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber, GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The Emirates side are drawing up plans internally to secure the England international’s future with a new deal, with Rice’s current agreement expiring at the end of the 2027/28 season.

While there is still plenty of time on his current contract, Romano suggests a new deal for Rice is ‘going to take time’, with Arsenal also in talks for extensions for both Saka and Timber.

Since the start of the summer, Mikel Arteta’s side have confirmed new contracts for Gabriel Magalhaes, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Leandro Trossard and William Saliba.

The Frenchman’s new deal is believed to have made him one of the best-paid players at the Emirates, with Saliba penning a new five-year agreement reportedly worth £250,000 per week.

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, revealed that Arsenal are aiming to discuss a new deal with Rice in the future and reward him with fresh Emirates terms:

“Not today, not tomorrow, it’s going to take time, but in Arsenal's plans, there is also the idea to offer a new contract to Declan Rice.

“So Arsenal also want to discuss with Declan Rice and offer him a new deal.

“It's part of the plans. It's part of the conversation. So let's follow that situation, because also Declan is going to be one of the names being mentioned internally for a new deserved contract.”

Rice, who joined Arsenal from West Ham in a club-record £105m deal in the summer of 2023, has been an instrumental part of Arteta’s squad since.

The England international has registered 18 goals and 25 assists in 120 appearances and was named Arsenal Player of the Season last term, as well as included in the PFA Team of the Year for a second year running.

With two goals and two assists, Rice is Arsenal’s joint-best goal contributor in the Premier League this season, along with Viktor Gyokeres and Leandro Trossard.

The midfielder also registered two assists in the Champions League, helping Arsenal win all four of their opening games.

The Gunners are also unbeaten in the Premier League since the start of September, sitting four points clear at the top of the table after 11 games.
