Tottenham learn new Sarr injury update ahead of Arsenal derby

Forced off: Pape Matar Sarr

The midfielder was forced off early in the second half while playing for Senegal in a friendly against Brazil on Saturday.

Sarr was able to walk off without assistance, suggesting it was not too serious, but it was a significant concern for Spurs a week out from the north London derby.

However, Senegal manager Pape Thiaw has confirmed that he does not expect Sarr to face a spell on the sidelines.

“He got hit and then he didn’t feel well, so as a precaution, he preferred to come off," Thiaw said.

"But I don’t think it’s a big deal.”

Thomas Frank will hope that proves to be true with Spurs already contending with multiple injury concerns ahead of their trip to face Arsenal on Sunday.

Lucas Bergvall withdrew from international duty with Sweden after there was a "reaction" to tests on his concussion, which he suffered for Spurs in the opening minutes of their defeat to Chelsea earlier this month.

Archie Gray is out with a calf injury and so it leaves Frank short of options in midfield.

Spurs are expecting Mohammed Kudus to be fit to face Arsenal after it was decided he should not join up with Ghana during the international break.

Kudus missed Spurs' last two matches with a knock but he is set to recover from that in time for the north London derby.

Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani remain unavailable, but Radu Dragusin could return after playing 45 minutes in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Leyton Orient at the training ground last week.
