Pape Matar Sarr’s availability for the upcoming North London derby is in doubt following Senegal’s clash with Brazil at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder started for the Lions of Teranga in their 2-0 loss to Brazil, but was substituted for Nicolas Jackson in the 49th minute following a clash for the ball with Manchester United’s Matheus Cunha.

The severity of the 23-year-old’s injury is uncertain at this stage.

Spurs will make the short trip across North London to the Emirates on Sunday to face Premier League log leaders Arsenal.

The Gunners have collected 26 points and have lost only one league game this season, winning eight and drawing two.

Spurs sit in fifth place with 18 points, narrowly edging Aston Villa, Manchester United, Liverpool and Bournemouth on goal difference. The Europa League champions have managed five wins, three losses and three draws in the league under new head coach Thomas Frank.

Sarr’s possible absence adds to the club’s injury woes with Randal Kolo Muani, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Bergvall all currently on the injury list.
