Arsenal will not be rushing into the January market despite two big injuries in recent days, sources have told Football Insider.
Riccardo Calafiori suffered a hip problem while on international duty with Italy, and while the injury is not thought to be too serious, his fitness for the Gunners is in doubt.
To make matters worse for Mikel Arteta, Gabriel Magalhaes was forced off during Brazil’s friendly with Senegal, adding to the North London side’s defensive woes.
However, sources say that Arsenal plan to solve any fitness issues with their impressive squad depth, rather than signing replacements in January.

Arsenal have squad depth to deal with injuries
Arsenal are four points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League, and are aiming to win their first title in 21 years.
One thing that could derail the Gunners’ campaign is injuries, but Arteta has the necessary squad depth to deal with any problems.
Even if both Calafiori and Gabriel are out for Arsenal’s first game back after the international break, a North London derby against Tottenham, the likes of Miles Lewis-Skelly and Cristhian Mosquera can step up.

Ben White and Piero Hincapie are also waiting in the wings if needed, meaning that the Gunners are well-stocked in defensive positions.
Arsenal advancing in contract talks with two stars
Meanwhile, Arsenal are advancing in contract talks to get their star players tied down, with Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber next on their list.
Football Insider revealed on 26 October that Saka is edging closer to an agreement with Arsenal on a deal which could be worth over £300,000 per week.

Negotiations over Timber‘s future are also ongoing after what has been an excellent start to the season for him.
Having joined the club in 2023, his contract is set to run until 2028, but the club are keen to reward him with an extended deal to recognise his value to their side.
