Patrick Dorgu claimed Manchester United "have enough good players" when asked whether he would like to share a dressing room with Scott McTominay at Old Trafford after his wonderful goal against Denmark. The former United midfielder was sold in 2024 to Napoli - five months prior to Dorgu's United arrival - and since then he has been impressing in Serie A.

This week the midfielder helped Scotland beat Dorgu's Denmark 4-2 at Hampden Park to secure the home nation's qualification to the World Cup in USA, Mexico and Canada. McTominay opened the scoring after less than five minutes with a tremendous overhead kick.

United loanee Rasmus Hojlund scored from the penalty spot to level the game before Lawrence Shankland guided in a corner to give the Scots the advantage. Denmark only needed a point to qualify automatically and Dorgu's late strike looked to have earned them just that but two late goals saw them settle for a place in the play-offs.

When asked post-match if he would like to be playing alongside McTominay at United, Dorgu said: "It was a good goal but we also have enough good players at United as well. I am happy for him winning the league in Napoli."

The next international break is not until March at which point Denmark will need to beat North Macedonia and then either Czechia or the Republic of Ireland to progress to the World Cup. Dorgu insists his focus is now on succeeding with the Reds until then.

He said: "100% we just need to look forward. We are in a really good position at United.

"We will go back with confidence to help the team to get more wins. Denmark is now March. It is a long time and we just need to concentrate on club matters until then."

Dorgu is expected to be back in the United squad on Monday night when they host Everton in the Premier League. A win for the Reds could move them into the top four.
